Fourth of July Festivities in Saint Louis

Well, the dog is hiding in the bathtub and there’s no impending storm… that can only mean one thing: It’s July 4th again!  While it may not be Mr. Barkington’s favorite holiday, it’s one of the best to get outside with the kids.  It takes place during summer when the kids are out of school and there are plenty of daylight hours, so what are you going to do with the family this year?

If you still haven’t decided on plans then check out About.com’s informative guide to all things Fourth of July in and around Saint Louis.  They provide 15 alternatives to Fair Saint Louis that are happening in the Saint Louis area.  Pick one that is close to you, or try a new Fourth of July event this year!  If you don’t mind the crowds and want to go to the crème de la crème of Saint Louis Fourth of July celebrations then visit Fair Saint Louis’ page for all the details and times for the entire Fourth of July Weekend festivities.  Fair Saint Louis is in Forest Park for the second year in a row due to the success of last years’ celebration and the ongoing construction along the Arch grounds.

If none of those options sound appealing and you’d like to opt for a different American tradition, then go enjoy our National Pastime with the kids at Busch Stadium.  The Cardinals are in town and still have tickets available for the game on the Fourth as cheap as $15, and if you don’t mind spending some extra money there are still tickets available for the game on Friday the 3rd which is Fireworks Night at the ballpark.  After the game is over, stay in your seats for an incredible fireworks display set to music!

No matter how you choose to celebrate the Fourth this year, have a safe and happy holiday weekend!  If you’re going out to dinner with the family to celebrate be sure to use the Eat Kid Friendly App to find the restaurant best suited to your family’s needs, and don’t forget to rate the eatery after your meal!
